
- 1963 - Icel Group is established as Instrument Control Equipment Limited. The early focus of the company is to provide instrument equipment and technicians for the gas and paper industries.
- 1977 - The name changes to Icel (Maidstone) Limited and the scope of the company’s activities is changed to encompass more electrical work which leads to a more diverse client base. Panel manufacturing is also introduced at this time.
- 1999 - The Mechanical Services division is added, specialising in stainless steel fabrication and orbital welding for fine chemicals, pharmaceutical and food industries. This enables the company to offer clients a complete package of mechanical, electrical and instrumentation services.
- 2000 - Icel Power Systems is established and becomes an authorised dealer for FG Wilson generators. The new Icel Group is able to offer generator and UPS design, supply, installation and maintenance services.
- 2005 - Icel Group is acquired by ETDE, part of the large multinational Bouygues Group. Icel works very closely with its UK sister company Ecovert FM, leaders in Total Facilities Management, on the integration process.
- 2007 - Icel Group becomes a subsidiary of Ecovert FM and restructures into four divisions:
2007 also sees the rapid expansion of the design department offering clients front-end studies through to detailed design and full validation services.
- 2008 - Icel Group adds a fifth division, Special Projects, to its structure. The aim of this new division is to carry out feasibility studies, provide project planning, project control, cost management and specialist engineering assistance within the Ecovert Group, as well as to our external business partners.
